Stephen Alex “Steve” Edwards died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Eagle Lake. He was 35.

Mr. Edwards was a Madison County native. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Flora.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eleanor and Ennis Edwards.

Survivors include one son, Austin Edwards of Eagle Lake; one daughter, Ashlyn Edwards of Bentonia; his parents, Eddie and Kay Collier Edwards of Eagle Lake; a sister, Stephanie Edwards of Ridgeland; and his maternal grandparents, Betty and Bob Collier of Starkville.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City with the Revs. Pat Ward and Lannie Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow at Ogden Cemetery in Yazoo County. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Russ Chandler, Cliff Barker, Robert Bell, Nelson Peden, Phillip Baldwyn, Jamie Shoemaker and Johnny Shoemaker.

Memorials may be made to the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson.
