George R. Sims died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 86.

Born in Natchez, Mr. Sims was retired. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Sims; his mother, Hannah Felton Wright; and one sister, Beatrice Jones.

Survivors include two sons, George Sims Jr. and Jeffery Sims, both of Grenada; two daughters, Mary Fray and Lucinda Sims, both of Grenada; a brother, Charlie Sims of Vicksburg; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including Eddie Lee Jones.
