The engagement of Laurin Beth Lynn to Shane Terrell Emrick, both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged in a private ceremony at 3 p.m. Jan. 8, 2009, at Wilsonwood Lodge Chapel. A reception will follow at the lodge. All relatives and friends are invited to attend the reception from 4 until 7 p.m.

Miss Lynn is the daughter of Charles and Missy Lynn and the late Trisha Lynn of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Mary Lou and Johnny Lynn of Vicksburg.

Mr. Emrick is the son of Christie and Steve Taylor of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Irene and Robert Harper and Dannie Emrick, all of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She is pursuing a nursing degree from Hinds Community College. She is employed at Helping Hand Family Pharmacy.

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Midway Christian School. He is pursuing a business management degree from Hinds Community College. He is employed in maintenance at the Park Residences at Bienville.
