Carrie Lee Laird

Carrie Lee Laird died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at her home in Jackson. She was 64.
Born in Vicksburg, Ms. Laird had been a Jackson resident for a number of years. She was the daughter of the late Frank Herman Bliss and Julia Russell Bliss. She was a graduate of Jett High School and attended Hinds Junior College. She was a retired state field office director for Sen. Thad Cochran.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Bliss Coleman.
She is survived by two sisters, Barbara Bliss Quirk of Vicksburg and Frances Bliss Brown of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; four nephews, Michael Robinson of Vicksburg, Matthew Glenn Coleman of Brookhaven, James Russell Brown of Muscle Shoals and David Cameron Brown of Athens, Ala.; and a niece, Sylvia Quirk Brown of Vicksburg.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.
