A Forest man suspected of robbing the BancorpSouth at Indiana Avenue and South Frontage Road Thursday was en route to the Vicksburg Police Station this morning for questioning.

“We are sure it is him, but we have to go through a round of questions before we officially charge him,” said Lt. Bobby Stewart. “If he is charged, he will be arraigned this afternoon and then booked into the Warren County Jail.”

Timothy Gandy, 41, was arrested Friday night by Hattiesburg police and Mississippi Bureau of Investigations agents at a Hattiesburg hotel. Police said his most recent driver’s license listed 11352 Mississippi 21, Forest, as his address but a resident of the home said he has not lived there in years.

A Vicksburg man had charges added to his original offense after he caused $514 worth of damage to a police car, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said today.

Tyrone Powell, 35, 908 Pierce St., was arrested around 1 p.m. at his mother’s home, 1103 Chestnut St., on domestic violence charges. After being placed in the back of the police car, Powell repeatedly kicked the back door, Stewart said.
