Larry “Terrell” Davis and Tanisha Nanji Johnson were married at 4 p.m. Oct. 11, 2008, at Triumph Church. The Revs. Antione Eakins and Henry Mayfield officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Cornelius and Helen Johnson of Vicksburg.
The groom is the son of Wilma and Larry Anderson, William Davis and Ernestine and Dewitt Thomas, all of Vicksburg.
The altar area was illuminated with an arrangement of tiered fan candelabrums coupled with spiral candles trimmed in ruscus, ivy and a rust-colored bow. Arrangements of orange and rust gladioli, tropical Amazon roses, gerbera daisies and leatherleaf marked the stairway.
Music was presented by C.J. Williams and Travonta Hill. Mothers and grandmothers were seated to “Wind Beneath My Wings,” sung by Linda Jackson. Gertrude Brown and Betty Davis illuminated candles in memory of the late Augusta Anderson and the late Doris Davis, grandparents of the groom. The groom, minister and best men entered to “Ribbon in the Sky,” sung by Jackson. Members of the wedding party entered to an instrumental version of “Ribbon in the Sky.” The traditional “Wedding March” was played for the bride’s entrance. “The Lord’s Prayer” was sung by Hill. Following the vows and exchange of rings, the unity candle was lighted to “I Believe in You and Me.” The signing of the marriage license followed.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer gown of candlelight-ivory satin. An elegant lace overlay trimmed in gold and coral crystals cascaded into an asymmetrical waist that flowed into a princess-seamed skirt and cathedral-length train, which was finished in a deeply-scalloped border of matching crystals.
Her double-tiered, fingertip veil fell from a tiara of crystals and sequins.
The bride carried a cascade of ivory roses, goddess calla lilies and lady-slipper orchids tied with a chiffon bow.

They each wore designer, floor-length gowns created with a draped bodice, V-neck and a ruched, dropped waist that fell into an A-line skirt. The V-back featured a similar effect.
They each carried handheld bouquets featuring green goddess calla lilies, tropical Amazon roses and hypericum berries tied with a rust-chiffon bow.
Junior bridesmaids were Victoria Williams, Alexxis Williams and Amauria Lush. They each wore gowns featuring an A-line, floor-length skirt. The fitted bodice was created with spaghetti straps and a ruched, dropped waist. They each carried handheld bouquets of green calla lilies accented with hypericum, leatherleaf and a chiffon bow.

Both mothers carried Eufloria Amazon roses, lavender stock and ruscus in tussie mussies.
A reception followed at Vicksburg City Auditorium.
The foyer area held a matted photo of the couple that guests autographed upon entering. Centering the area was a roasted pig surrounded by fruits, breads and orange linens.
Massive arrangements of long-stemmed calla lilies and curly willow filled the buffet tables.
Guest tables, covered in gold linens, were centered with tiered lanterns and calla lilies trimmed in gold beading and leatherleaf fern.
A cascading arrangement of miniature callas, gourds and mini pumpkins decorated the bridal couple’s table.
Guests were entertained with special music by The Sensational Six gospel band and special toasts.
