Myrtle Irene Ebeling

Myrtle Irene Ebeling, lovingly referred to as “Myrt,” died at River Region Medical Center on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at the age of 91. She was of the Methodist faith.

Myrt was born in Brookville, Pa., moving to Vicksburg with her husband and two sons in 1954. She worked for the Mississippi Action for Progress for 30 years, retiring in 2002 at the young age ofcharlesrilesfuneralhome.com/ 85.

Myrt was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Henry Ebeling; her son, Daniel K. Ebeling; her nephew, Christopher Keith Ebeling and Chris’ wife, Paula; two sisters, Louise and Hazel; and two brothers, Roy and Bill.

She is survived by a son, David Ebeling and his wife, Suzan, of Vicksburg; brother, Gene Schoening of Detroit, Mich.; four grandchildren, Terri Black of Huntsville, Ala., Donna Waddle and her husband, Jimmy, of Vicksburg, Misty Jabour and her husband, John, of Vicksburg and Candice Ebeling and her fiancé, Ray Bogle, of Byram; seven great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Jessica, John Michael, Greyson, Marissa, Abigaile and Dalaney; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania and California.

Myrt requested to be buried next to her husband at Green Acres Memorial Park. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon Friday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be John Jabour, Ray Bogle, Shane Miller, Jeff Cockrell, Bill Field Jr. and Darrell Flaggs. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Vicksburg Fire Department.
