Vicksburg woman nabbed at casino on cheating charge

A Vicksburg woman remained in jail this morning after being arrested shortly after 6 a.m. by Vicksburg police at the Rainbow Hotel Casino, 1380 Warrenton Road.
Ebony Nacole Beasly, 23, 4800 E. U.S. 80, was charged with cheating and conspiracy to cheat, Sgt. Sandra Williams said.
She was being held on $20,000 bond.
Stolen car, burglary, shooting reported in city
A stolen car, a business burglary and a drive-by shooting were reported to Vicksburg police Tuesday and this morning, Sgt. Sandra Williams said.
* A 2006 Mazda 3 was reported stolen Tuesday at 7:43 p.m. at the Commodore Apartments, 605 Cain Ridge Road. The vehicle, with Mississippi tag WAQ 298, had an unknown value, Williams said.
* Blansett’s Ornamental Ironworks, 3301 1/2 Washington St., was reported burglarized today at 4:18 a.m. The window of the front door was broken and a bubble gum machine of unknown value was stolen.
* A 1990 Pontiac Grand Am was shot at in the 100 block of Alcorn Drive in a drive-by incident Tuesday at 3:08 p.m., Williams said. No injuries were reported, but police did find a bullet hole in the victim’s car.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as a large, older model car with a solid bar rear light.
* A malicious mischief complaint was reported Tuesday at 9:54 a.m., Williams said. A marble countertop in a room at the Battlefield Inn, 4137 Frontage Road, was damaged by a patron. The countertop was valued at $600. No charges had been filed this morning.
Butane tank among items stolen from workshop
A workshop in a field off Gailey Road was reported burglarized Tuesday at 3:55 p.m., according to Warren County Sheriff’s Department records.
Stolen were a butane tank with a chrome heater and a three-speed, stainless steel shop fan.
The burglary took place either Dec. 26 or 27, the victim said.
Wreck at Oak Ridge sends one to hospital
A wreck at 1388 Oak Ridge Road Tuesday morning sent one Vicksburg man to the hospital.
William Wicker, 54, 6801 Paxton Road, Lot 15, was taken to River Region Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
Details of the wreck were unavailable.
