Lou Ann Purvis

TALLULAH  — Lou Ann Purvis died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. She was 74.

Mrs. Purvis was born in Houston, La. She was a lifelong resident of the Tallulah area. She was a homemaker and a member of Willow Bayou Baptist Church of Tallulah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Purvis; and a sister, Charlene Dillon.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Purvis and Quinton Purvis, both of Tallulah, and Roy Purvis of Memphis; one daughter, Fleeta Hutchinson of Pearl; one sister, Cherry Lynn Burnett of St. Charles, Mo.; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah with the Rev. John W. Rushing officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of the service Friday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Britton Purvis, Charley Purvis, Justin Purvis, Lee Nichols, Brady Nichols and Jeremy Purvis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Horace Russell, Bud Taylor, Larry Cox, Ronnie Parker, Mike Ellis, Ronnie Frith and Donnie Frith.
