WAUKEGAN, Ill. — Hallie King died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, Ill. She was 86.

Mrs. King attended Mount Sinai Baptist Church and was a former member of Christian Chapel Church in Port Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Susan Shelton; her husband, Rufus M. “Buddy” King; five brothers, Howard Shelton, Richard Shelton, Luther Shelton, John Wesley Shelton and Lawrence Shelton; and six sisters, Maggie Shelton, Annie Brown, Annie Clemons, Mary Roberts, Lilye Moore and Hazel Moore.

Survivors include a brother-in-law, Coleman Moore; and nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Christian Chapel Church in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Rosehill Church Cemetery in Lorman. Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service.
