Purse-snatching suspect yanked after chase

A purse-snatching outside a casino Tuesday afternoon landed a Bentonia man in jail.
Daniel Lennell McNesh, 20, 257 Harrison Lane, was arrested at 3:28 in the 1200 block of Washington Street and charged with strong-armed robbery.
The victim and a friend were leaving Horizon Casino, 1310 Mulberry St., when McNesh grabbed her purse and ran, said Vicksburg police Sgt. Sandra Williams. The victim’s friend and a casino security officer chased McNesh east to Washington Street, where they caught up to him and held him until police arrived, Williams said.
The victim’s purse was returned to her and no one was injured.
McNesh was in Issaquena County Jail this morning on $2,500 bond.
North Washington wreck injures city woman
A wreck Tuesday morning sent a Vicksburg woman to River Region Medical Center, Vicksburg Fire and Rescue officials said today.
Melva Tarleton, 45, 175 Pittman Road, was injured when her vehicle was hit from behind while she was stopped at a red light at 1775 N. Washington St.
Tarleton was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said today.
Two convicts jailed on court sanctions
Two Vicksburg men were in Warren County Jail this morning on drug court sanctions.
Joe Ray Chapin, 27, 598 Ring Road, was arrested at 6 p.m.
Joseph Alan Nash, 21, 209 West Drive, was arrested at 6:50 p.m.
