PORT GIBSON — Elnora Brannon, formerly of Port Gibson, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, in Denver, Colo. She was 96.

Mrs. Brannon was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Samuels Sr. and Violet Moore Samuels; her husband, Julius Brannon; two brothers, Frank Samuels Jr. and Emerson Samuels; and one sister, Sadie Brannon.

She is survived by one brother, Dock Samuels of Oakland, Calif.; one sister, Beatrice Johnson of Denver; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Scott’s Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 today and from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
