Carolyn “Peaches” W. Whitney died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 62.

Ms. Whitney was born in Yazoo City, and was a member of Greater Mount Lebanon M.B. Church. She was a homemaker and worked for Bell South for 15 years as well as Cooper Lighting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lowe; and parents, Willie White Sr. and Velma Walker White.

Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Whitney Sr. of Vicksburg; a son, Donnie Lowe of Vicksburg; a daughter, Greta Lowe Wardley of Vicksburg; a brother, Willie White Jr. of Yazoo City; two sisters, Ollie White Kirkland and Velma White Rush, both of Yazoo City; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
