Steele, Bagby are wed

Jonah Abraham Steele and Sarah Ashlee Bagby were married at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 27, 2008, at Open Door Bible Church. Dr. George M. Hammitt officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jimmy and Lee Bagby of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Dot Bagby and the late James “Red” Bagby of Vicksburg and the late John “Jack” Phillips and Mavis R. Phillips of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The groom is the son of Jim Steele of Patterson, La., and Elaine Cureton of Morgan City, La. He is the grandson of Earl and Jeannette Cureton of Bulls Gap, Tenn., and the late Joseph and Florence Steele of East Stroudsburg, Pa.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Musical selections were presented by Joan Bowen, pianist.
Maid of honor was Mary Beth McCain, cousin of the bride, of Vicksburg. The groom’s brother, Mark Anthony Duhon of Morgan City, served as best man.
Ushers were Mac McKnight and John Bowen, both of Vicksburg. Scripture reader was Erin Formby of Vicksburg.
A reception followed the ceremony in the church hall. Hosts were Ethan Bagby, Kimball Bufkin, Wendi Rush, Becky Folkens and Donna Reynolds.
The couple will make their home in Morgan City. The bride is a student, and the groom is employed by Superior Supply and Steel.
Rehearsal dinner
On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the bridal couple hosted a rehearsal dinner at Toney’s Restaurant.
Shower
The bride was honored with a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Petersen. Hostesses were Barbara Petersen, Chelsea Whitten, Karen Sales and Laura Petersen.
