No arrests made in two Vicksburg shootings

A man who was shot five times near Jackson Lane on Saturday afternoon remained in River Region Medical Center this morning in fair condition.
Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department said this morning that no arrest had been made and more people were to be interviewed today.
Shawn Russell, 32, unknown address, was shot twice in one arm, once in each leg and once in the back around 2 p.m. near the uninhabited road in Kings Community.
In a separate shooting reported in Vicksburg last week, a Vicksburg man remained in serious but stable condition at the University Medical Center in Jackson today.
Reco Reed, 33, 1200 block of Price Street, was shot in the shoulder and the left side of his chest outside the Elks Club on Walnut Street on Jan. 26.
Stewart said the investigation is ongoing, and no arrests had been made.
Woman charged with having stolen goods
A Vicksburg woman remained in the Warren County Jail this morning charged with possession of stolen property.
Jaronda Curry, 18, 1210 Finney St. Apartment B, was arrested at 9:53 p.m. Saturday by Warren County deputies.
She was being held without bond.
Separately, Henry C. Shy, 24, 1004 Howard St., was arrested at 7:20 this morning by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for probation violation.
He, too, was in jail without bond.
Games, TVs, cash among missing items
Four residential burglaries and a car burglary were reported in the city during the weekend.
•A PlayStation 2 and a Philips DVD player were reported missing in the 1200 block of Second North Street at 3:30 p.m. Friday. The equipment was valued at about $300.
• A Sanyo 41-inch flat-screen TV valued at $600, a JVC 52-inch flat-screen TV valued at $1,800, an HP desktop computer valued at $490 and a Sony DVD player valued at $80 were reported at 1 a.m. Saturday taken from the 200 block of Willow Drive.
• Change totaling $20 was reported missing from the 500 block of Fairground Street at 9:42 a.m. Saturday.
• A 52-inch Sanyo TV valued at $900 was reported missing from the 1200 block of Crawford Street at 11 Sunday night.
• The auto burglary was reported at 4:24 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of Wal-Mart SuperCenter on Iowa Boulevard. A woman’s outfit valued at $42 was reported stolen from a 2000 Kia.
City woman injured in wreck on I-20
A Vicksburg woman was sent to the River Region Medical Center after being involved in a one-car wreck on Interstate 20 a mile west of Bovina.
Doris Oliver, 51, 218 Leland Drive, was the only person involved in the wreck reported at 7:52 p.m. Friday.
She was treated and released, said a hospital spokesman.
