County man jailed for fake checks

A Vicksburg man is in Warren County Jail this morning for trying to pass fake checks.

Thomas Parker, 47, 2501 Culkin Road, was charged with two counts of uttering a forgery stemming from an allegation by Superior Oil Products of Vicksburg in September.

He surrendered to Vicksburg police Wednesday afternoon, said Vicksburg Lt. Bobby Stewart.

He was being held without bond.

Jackson woman jailed for driving stolen truck

A Jackson woman was in the Warren County Jail this morning charged with driving a truck that had been reported stolen.

Anita Daniels, 35, 5958 Lake Trace Circle, was charged with receiving stolen property after authorities discovered the 2006 Ford F-150 she was driving had been reported stolen.

Before being jailed Wednesday, Daniels had been in the Hinds County Jail on an unknown charge and had been charged in Warren County in September with grand larceny. She was being held without bond.

TV reported missing from MLK home

A Philips 27-inch TV valued at $300 was reported missing in a residential burglary reported in the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
