A happy hebe

Sunshine and blue skies Thursday saw a slight breeze blowing droplets of water as they fell from Greek goddess Hebe’s cup in Bloom Fountain on Monroe Street. Temperatures topped out in the mid-50s, a warm-up from earlier in the week. The fountain, built in 1927, was named after Vicksburg resident Louis Bloom who left the money for it in his will for the City of Vicksburg. Skies are forecast to be clear through the weekend with temperatures climbing to about 70. The National Weather Service is predicting thunderstorms could roll in in the early part of next week.
