A Pinola man was in jail this morning after being arrested Thursday afternoon at a casino for passing a counterfeit check and using a false ID, police said.

Smith was charged with uttering a forgery at Rainbow Hotel and Casino, 1380 Warrenton Road, after a casino worker called in to verify the check, said Ken Smith, Vicksburg Police Department investigator.
