Jerry and Dorothy Rushing of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Aleese, to Benjamin Allan Lugo. Mr. Lugo is the son of Sergio and Lorri Lugo of Florence.

Miss Rushing is the granddaughter of Dorothy Andrews and Thomas and Jackie Rushing of Vicksburg and the late James and Shirley Leese.

Mr. Lugo is the grandson of Charles and Vilda Dowdle and Elvia Lugo of Florence.

The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a member of the Big Blue Band flag and rifle line, varsity choir and Total Sound.

She attended Hinds Community College.

Miss Rushing is a sales associate at D.C. Parker Jewelers.

The prospective groom is a 2007 graduate of McLaurin High School, where he was a member of the Beta Club and the football and baseball teams.

Mr. Lugo is majoring in history at Hinds Community College, where he is on the president’s list and a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

Vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. March 14, 2009, at Bowmar Baptist Church. A reception will follow.
