Lucille Gladys Miller

Services for Lucille Gladys Miller will be at noon Saturday at Greater Grove Street M.B. Church, 2715 Alcorn Drive, with Dr. Michael R. Reed Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with family present from 6 until 8.

Mrs. Miller died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was 92.

Mrs. Miller was born in Yokena to the late Isabella Gibson Rogers. She was a member of Rock of Ages M.B. Church, where she was the oldest mother of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Miller of New Orleans.

She is survived by five daughters, Barbara Anderson of Vicksburg, Gloria Humes of Suwanee, Ga., Amy Dickerson of New Orleans and Linda Coleman and Tonia Marshall, both of Houston, Texas; one son, Larry Foster Hall of Houston; six sisters, Susie Perkins of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Edna Claiborne and Georgia Boykins, both of Vicksburg, and Willie Lee Motley, Pearlie Pena and Idarene Rogers, all of Los Angeles; 11 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including members of the Claiborne, Gibson and Hall families.
