Meeting Thursday, the Warren County Board of Supervisors:
* Took under advisement two bids to replace the entrance bridge at the Port of Vicksburg that came in under engineers’ estimates.
Offers from Ellisville-based Tanner Construction Co. and Madison-based Key came in at $6.04 million and $6.8 million, respectively. Replacing the two-lane structure with a wider, four-lane structure and improvements to the intersection at North Washington Street and E.W. Haining Road were estimated at $7.3 million. A third bid was submitted by Natchez-based Dozer totaling $7.695 million.
Work is expected to take about 2 1/2 years. The project is financed by a $10 million Katrina-related disaster recovery grant secured by Warren County in September.
