Anna Bell Favre Fayard

BAY ST. LOUIS — Anna Bell Favre Fayard, age 88, a lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis, passed away on Feb. 13, 2009, in Biloxi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norvin J. Fayard Sr.; her parents, Leon Favre and Natalie Luke Favre; two sons, Walter Fabian Fayard and Glen A. Fayard; her brothers, Chester Favre and Irvin Favre; and two sisters, Natalie Garcia and Helen Erskin.
She is survived by her children, T.J. Fayard and his wife, Carolyn, of Ocean Springs, Gerald Fayard and his wife, Linda, of Gulfport, Barbara Foreman of Biloxi, Bruce Fayard and his wife, Etta, and Deborah Collier, all of Bay St. Louis, Tanya Sauer of Gulfport, and Amy Haygood and her husband, Gary, of Vicksburg; two sisters, Catherine Capdepon of Houston, Texas, and Audrey Vallely of Atlanta, Ga.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A caregiver and foster mother to numerous children, she was a beloved wife and mother. She was an excellent cook, and her children remember the after-school beignets and pancakes that were always waiting for them.
She was a lifelong Catholic and a member of St. Henry’s Chapel, St. Claire Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, after 6 p.m. at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach. A Mass of Christian burial will be said on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at noon at Our Lady of Gulf Catholic Church, Bay St. Louis, where family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Cedar Rest Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held immediately following the graveside service at the Holden family home.
