Break-ins reported at U.S. 80 businesses

Break-ins were reported at two nearby businesses on U.S. 80 Saturday, but police said they did not know if they were related.

Alarms were triggered at 10:16 p.m. Saturday at Rebel Welding and Industrial Supply Inc., 180 U.S. 80, and at Blossman Propane Gas and Appliance, 140 U.S. 80, said Sgt. Larry Holloway of the Vicksburg Police Department.

Nothing was missing from Blossman, but $15 was taken from a cash register at Rebel.

Additionally, while studying surveillance tapes of the Rebel burglary, police found a car in the fenced yard of the business was broken into, but nothing was missing there.

CD player, game missing from cars

Two auto burglaries were reported in Vicksburg during the weekend.

A Pioneer radio/CD player valued at $200 was reported missing from a 1989 brown Buick at 10:04 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Crawford Street.

A PlayStation 2 and 10 to 15 video games valued at $500 were reported missing at 2:09 p.m. Friday in the Pizza Inn parking lot, 4102 Clay St. No description of the car was given.
