Gators beat Shannon, advance to North State

SHANNON — Mychal Ammons scored 18 points to lead Vicksburg High’s boys basketball team to a 50-39 Class 4A playoff win over Shannon on Tuesday night.

Vicksburg advanced to the North State Tournament, where it is scheduled to play Noxubee County on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Callaway High School in Jackson.
