McCarthy, Danczyk are wed in Hattiesburg

Sean Christopher McCarthy and Kimberly Marie Danczyk were married at 7 p.m. Dec. 20, 2008, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Hattiesburg. The Rev. Tommy Conway officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Gail Parker of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Ben and Hazel Fairchild of Vicksburg; the late Maximilian and Eleanor Danczyk of Stevens Point, Wis.; and Christine Parker of Laurel.
The groom is the son of Billy and Teresa McCarthy of Brandon. He is the grandson of Anne McCarthy and the late William McCarthy of Brandon and Bea Miller and the late Kenneth Miller of St. Peters, Mo.
The church foyer featured red poinsettias in memory of deceased grandparents. The altar area of the church held candelabrums wrapped in Christmas greenery and white-satin bows with streamers. Baskets of red poinsettias encircled the altar. Christmas trees trimmed in white lights adorned the back of the podium.
A program of prenuptial music was provided by Ryan Foulon, pianist and soloist. “Ave Maria” was performed at the lighting of the unity candle.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless, pickup-style gown of ivory satin with a sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice. Ruching embellished the skirt and chapel-length train.
Her double-layer, fingertip veil of illusion was edged in satin trim.
She wore a silver-and-pearl necklace and earrings.
She carried a dozen white roses wrapped with white-satin ribbon fastened in pearl pins.
Maid of honor was Jessica Buckalew of Chalmetta, La. Bridesmaids were Lauren Rose of Mobile, Ala.; Leah Schultz of Madison; Jessica Benigno of Metairie, La.; and Lacey Boswell of California and Italy.
The attendants wore strapless, A-line, tea-length gowns of espresso-colored taffeta. They each carried long-stemmed white roses wrapped in white-satin ribbon fastened with pearl pins.
Flower girl was Isabella Danczyk, niece of the bride.
The groom’s brother, Ryan McCarthy of Brandon, served as best man. Groomsmen were Trey McSweyn of Hattiesburg and Richard Coleman, Andrew Whelan and Johnnie Fox, all of Brandon.
Ushers were Craig Danczyk, brother of the bride, and Chris Walker.
Readers were Judy Danczyk, aunt of the bride; Leslie Phillip; Billy McCarthy; and Chuck Heinrich, uncle of the groom.
Victoria Danczyk, niece of the bride, served as program attendant and proxy.
Special wedding assistant was DeLes Roberts.
The bride’s mother wore a champagne, floor-length gown with a lace bodice and matching lace jacket.
The groom’s mother wore a floor-length gown of sapphire blue.
Both mothers carried white roses wrapped in satin ribbon and fastened with pearl pins.
A reception followed at Cane Brake Country Club in Hattiesburg. Tables were decorated with white roses in a bud vase.
The bride’s five-tiered cake, presented on a clear-floating stand, was decorated with Cornelia lace and gum-paste flowers.
The groom’s chocolate cake was frosted in milk chocolate and topped with a USM Eagle inlay.
Both cakes were made and decorated by the groom’s mother.
Guests were entertained with music by Ryan Foulon and band.
Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple is at home in Hattiesburg.
Out-of-state guests were from Alabama, California, Florida, Missouri and Wisconsin.
Rehearsal dinner
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Hilton Garden Inn. The bride and groom chose this time to pre-sent gifts to their attendants.
Party
The bride’s sorority sisters hosted a couple’s wine-and-cheese party at the home of Lauren Rose.
Showers
The bride was honored with a miscellaneous shower at Salem United Methodist Church in McCool. Hostesses were Janet Alashti, Wilma Black and Laurie Bowman.
Members of Agape Sunday school class at Crawford Street United Methodist Church hosted a couple’s miscellaneous dinner shower at the home of Jerry and Myra Dean.
