Services for Ernest Leon Jordan will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. Friday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Mr. Jordan died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Promise Specialty Hospital. He was 77.

Mr. Jordan was born in Edwards. He attended Southern Christian Institute and graduated from Hinds Agricultural High School in Utica. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Mat Sinking Unit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Armstead and Emma Miller Jordan; and a brother, Edgar Jordan.

Survivors include his sister, Mattie Griffin of Edwards; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
