Dr. and Mrs. John Russell Barnes of Vicksburg and Nan Norwood Barnes of Tallulah announce the engagement of their daughter, Sally Elizabeth of Hattiesburg, to Robert Michael Southall Jr. of Vicksburg. Mr. Southall is the son of Nell Conerly Southall and the late Robert Michael Southall, both of Vicksburg.

Miss Barnes is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Norwood of St. Joseph, La., and Doris Lacy Barnes and the late Orrice Russell Barnes of Newellton, La.

Mr. Southall is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Conerly and the late Mr. and Mrs. Pat Southall, all of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of St. Aloysius High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Mississippi in 2004 and attended the Florida Institute of Ultrasound in 2005.

Miss Barnes is an ultrasonographer at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.

The prospective groom is a 1997 graduate of Warren Central High School. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi and is pursuing a degree in accounting.

Mr. Southall is employed with Gullet Builders of Vicksburg.

The wedding will be at 7 p.m. May 30, 2009, at Crawford Street United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club.
