Assault, gun possession lands city man in jail

A Vicksburg man was in the Issaquena County Jail after being accused of assault.
Aric Shells, 35, 126B Alcorn Drive, was arrested at his home at 6:26 a.m. Sunday after a complaint was filed by his girlfriend, said Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart.
Shells was charged with aggravated domestic violence and, after a 38-caliber gun was found in the home, possession of a weapon by a felon.
Shells has a previous drug possession conviction, Stewart said.
No bond had been set, and Shells was to make his first court appearance today.
Tools, ATV, electronics among missing items
Among items reported missing in Vicksburg and Warren County:
* A Skil saw and Dewalt cordless drill, each valued at $175, and a Dewalt saw valued at $150 were reported missing at 8:25 p.m. Sunday from the toolbox of a 2007 Ford F-150 that had been parked at Ameristar.
* A Pioneer CD player valued at $150, two 15-inch Punch sub-woofers each valued at $340 and a 15-inch DVD screen valued at $300 were reported missing at 6:51 a.m. Sunday from a 1993 GM Suburban that had been parked in the 200 block of First Avenue.
At the same time and location, a Pioneer CD player valued at $170 was reported missing from a 1998 Chevy Cavalier.
* A 2006 red Honda four-wheeler with a black rack on the back, valued at $6,000, was reported missing at 12:39 p.m. Saturday from a home in the 11000 block of Mississippi 3.
