PORT GIBSON — Rufus Lamar Williams died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009. He was 25.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Hamilton and Rosie Lee Williams.
He is survived by a daughter, Keyshonda Queen of Fayette; one brother, Eric Harrington of Port Gibson; seven sisters, Toffe Woodard, Tina Williams, Deborah A. Hamilton-Thornton and Tracy Williams, all of Port Gibson, Taneka Williams and Latory Hunter, both of Vicksburg, and Maple Hamilton-Blount of Houston, Texas; his paternal grandmother, Ruth Hamilton of Port Gibson; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held in conjunction with those of his great-aunt, Florida Trevillion Shorter, at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greater St. Mark M.B. Church with the Rev. Barry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at McCay Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
