A woman whose 4-year-old daughter lives with her is among four people charged Thursday night with manufacturing the highly volatile methamphetamine in an apartment in a complex on Berryman Road.
The mother, Ashley Rees, 24; a man described as her boyfriend, James M. Hart, 35; and Jamie Chaloux, 31; and Billy Sanders, 51, are all listed as residents of Apartment A6 at 201 Berryman Road, a 100-apartment complex just off East Clay Street, said Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace whose department along with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics made the bust.
All four were in the Warren County Jail this morning, charged with possession of precursor chemicals, possession of a controlled substance and crystal meth manufacturing.
Additionally, Hart and Rees were charged with child endangerment.
Pace said the bust occurred after deputies spotted Hart, whom they’d been watching, in a car apparently on his way home. He was stopped, and the 4-year-old and chemicals used in the manufacture of meth were found in the car, Pace said.
All are being held without bond.
The child, Pace said this morning, was placed with a family member by the Department of Human Services.
