PORT GIBSON — Roderick Justin Thompson died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Patient’s Choice Hospital in Port Gibson. He was 25.

Mr. Thompson was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a student at Hinds Community College in Vicksburg.

He is survived by his parents, Ronald Thompson Sr. and Ruby Burks-Thompson, both of Port Gibson; a son, Shikeem Thompson of Utica; a daughter, Tahceiona Thompson of Hermanville; one brother, Ronald Thompson Jr. of Port Gibson; two sisters, Katrice Thompson of Atlanta and Twilla King of Jackson; and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends and other relatives, including Franchella Gordon of Atlanta and James Tre Brown of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev. Ray Coleman officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today with family hour from 6 until 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Thursday at the church from noon until the service.
