A Vicksburg man found in the trunk of a car was in the Issaquena County Jail this morning, charged with an attempted armed robbery and attack on a man that forced him to receive medical treatment early this month.
Roderick Wayne Williams, 19, 1418 Martin Luther King Blvd., was arrested at 2:04 this morning and charged in the March 8 attempted strong arm robbery of a man in the parking lot of Waffle House, 4045 E. Clay St., said Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department.
The arrest came after a routine traffic stop led to a search of an unidentified vehicle on Halls Ferry Road and Cherry Street, Stewart said.
Once the car was stopped, Williams apparently climbed through a back seat opening into the trunk, where he was found by officers.
Williams was being held without bond.
The victim in the robbery, Stewart said, received medical attention and was released.
