Five auto burglaries reported in Warren County

Three auto burglaries were reported in two driveways of two homes across the street from one another in the 100 block of Madison Ridge Drive Friday morning.

At one home, a pair of Oakley sunglasses valued at $200, an iPod Nano valued at $200 and several CDs were reported missing from a 2003 GMC Sierra truck.

Also from the same home, a pair of Nikon binoculars valued at $300, a pair of Costa Del Mar sunglasses valued at $300, a cell phone valued at $50, a Surefire flashlight valued at $110, CDs, a turkey call and hunting knives were reported missing from a 2008 silver Chevy Tahoe truck.

At the other home, an iPod valued at $300, a pair of black sunglasses valued at $160, an iPod stereo receiver valued at $50 and a BlackBerry car charger valued at $50 were reported missing from a 2009 Acura MDX SUV.

Madison Ridge is off Lee Road.

Two more auto burglaries were reported in the county during the weekend.

* A personal checkbook and $304 in clothing and bags were reported missing at 7:31 p.m. Friday from a 2010 Chevrolet Lumina in the 600 block of Watkins Road.

* A Sony car stereo valued at $100 was reported missing at 3:41 p.m. Friday from a 2009 blue Chevrolet truck in the 8000 block of Halls Ferry Road.

Vicksburg man jailed over fake checks

A Vicksburg man was in the Issaquena County Jail this morning after fake checks were passed at a food store on U.S. 61.

Christopher Strawbridge, 28, no address available, was arrested at Shell Jubilee food store, 4747 U.S. 61 South, at 6:30 p.m. Friday and charged with two counts of uttering a forgery, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

He was being held on a $2,500 bond.

Cocaine charge lands man in jail

A Vicksburg man was in the Issaquena County Jail this morning for possession of cocaine.

Randy Morrison, 28, 1301 Bay St., was arrested at 10:51 p.m. after a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Rainy Drive and was charged with possession of cocaine, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

He was being held without bond.

Computer, TV, tools among missing items

Four residential burglaries were reported in the city during the weekend.

* A Dell computer valued at $600 was reported missing at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from a home in the 700 block of Hutson Street.

* A woman’s wedding ring valued at $400 and $300 were reported missing at 1:42 a.m. Sunday from a home in the 200 block of John Allen Street.

* A 32-inch plasma TV valued at $3,000 was reported missing at 7:15 p.m. Sunday from a home in the 100 block of Hicks Hill Lane.

* Craftsman tools and a tool box valued at $200 were reported missing at 7:51 p.m. Sunday from a home in the 200 block of Wells Road.

2 vehicles, 4-wheeler missing in county

Three thefts and a residential burglary were reported in the county during the weekend.

* A four-wheeler was reported missing at 12 p.m. Friday from the driveway of a home in the 4000 block of Tucker Road.

* A diamond ring valued at $500 was reported missing at noon Saturday from a home in the 5000 block of U.S. 80.

* A 1992 black Lincoln Continental valued at $600 and a 1999 white Ford Windstar mini-van valued at $600 were reported missing at 10:41 a.m. Saturday. Both were parked  in front of a home in the 100 block of Erves Road.

* A Homelight generator valued at $1,500 was reported missing at 7:15 p.m. Sunday from the carport of a home in the 100 block of Old Mount Alban Road.

Brandon man injured in wreck on Oak Ridge

A one-vehicle car wreck at 4258 Oak Ridge Road sent a Brandon man to the hospital Friday evening.

Colby Verucchi, 19, 802 River Chase Drive, was in good condition this morning at River Region Medical Center, said Allen Karel hospital spokesman.
