Laverne Crawford Russell died Monday, March 30, 2009. She was 76.

A Vicksburg resident, Mrs. Russell was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Russell of Vicksburg; one daughter, Nancy Day of Fayetteville, N.C.; two brothers, Calvin Crawford of Isola and Sammy Crawford of Columbus; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Mortimer Funeral Home Chapel in Belzoni with Sammy Crawford officiating. Burial followed at Belzoni City Cemetery.
