Doris Elizabeth Scott Curry

ST. JOSEPH — Doris Elizabeth “Dot” Scott Curry died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Magnolia Estates in Lafayette, La. She was 88.
Mrs. Curry was a lifelong resident of Tensas Parish. She worked for the Soil Conservation Office of St. Joseph and for Dr. Joseph Whitaker in Newellton for a number of years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace G. Curry Sr.; one daughter, Myra Jane C. Ratcliff; her parents, Myra Berry Scott and John Wesley Scott; and two brothers, J.W. Scott Jr. and W.E. “Gene” Scott.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Kay Roberts of Baton Rouge; one son, Horace G. “Brother” Curry Jr. of Lafayette; one sister, Jane Gould of Sulphur, La.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in St. Joseph with the Rev. Ray Owens Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Ratcliff, Michael Ratcliff, Chuck Howland, Scott Jernigan, Adam Curry and Fred Scott.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Barnett, Edwin Preis Sr. and Col. Bobby Gee.
