5 taken to hospital after 3-car wreck
Four people were treated and released from a hospital Thursday after a three-car chain-reaction wreck on Clay Street and Mission 66. A fifth person was taken to the hospital but left without treatment.
Injured were James Reed, 62, 605 Cain Ridge Road, driving alone; and Monique Logan, 32, 129 Lee Circle, and Carl Johnson, 7 months, 207 Rhodes Drive, in the same vehicle; and Tonya Williams, 38, 1101 Jefferson St. Apt. 403, and Lashonda Williams, 34, no address available, in the same car. Reed left without treatment from River Region Medical Center, said hospital spokesman Diane Gawronski. A second passenger in Logan’s vehicle was not injured.
Sgt. Jackie Johnson said the wreck, reported at 12:03 p.m., occurred when Reed’s 2005 Dodge Dakota hit Logan’s 1996 Dodge Ram truck which hit Williams’ 2004 Chrysler Sebring. All the cars were northbound on Mission 66 and Logan’s and Williams’ vehicles were stopped for a traffic light.
Johnson said a medical condition was believed to be the cause of the wreck and no citations were issued.
