City man jailed for marijuana possession, intent

A Vicksburg man was arrested for marijuana Wednesday after complaints of drug activity on Demby Drive.
Brian T. Bland, 32, 911 Commerce St., was released on a $5,000 bond from Warren County Jail Wednesday after he was arrested at 11:19 a.m. at 143 Demby Drive, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.
A warrant was issued to search the Demby Drive home after Vicksburg Police Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics received complaints of drug activity, said Stewart.
Police found marijuana and a small scale in Bland’s pocket, said Stewart.
He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, said Stewart.
Lorman man charged as fugitive from 2007
A Lorman man was arrested Wednesday for driving away from Vicksburg police during a roadblock in 2007.
Marquis Robinson, 28, Route 1 Box 83, was arrested by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife Services after a routine license check and when his identity was checked in the national database system, he was found to have a warrant for his arrest in Vicksburg, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.
Robinson was fishing in the Grand Gulf Military Park area when he was approached by MDWS officers, said Stewart.
He was charged with felony eluding and felony malicious mischief for the incident that occurred in August 2007, in which he fled the scene, said Stewart.
He damaged a police vehicle during his flight, said Stewart.
He is being held on a $25,000 bond for Warren County but was returned to Jefferson County to face initial charges of grand larceny, said Stewart.
Car reported missing from N. Frontage hotel
A 1993 red Ford Tempo with a Mississippi tag HXN660 was reported missing at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Deluxe Inn Hotel, 2751 N. Frontage Road.
Car parts taken; car damaged
An auto burglary was reported in the city Tuesday.
Vehicle parts with a total value of $2,580.20 were reported missing at 11:08 p.m. from a 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the 4200 block of Halls Ferry Road.
Separately, a malicious mischief was reported at 1:39 p.m., in which $1,500 in damages were done to a 1995 Mercury Marquis in the 400 block of Mission 66.
