Gennie Sims died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 60.

Ms. Sims was a member of Oak Chapel M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Sr. and Mary Ollie Sims; a brother, Willie Sims; and a sister Willie Mae Rafes.

Survivors include her daughter, Markessa Stimage of Vicksburg; one brother, Dave Sims of Miami; five sisters, Ollie Mae Coleman, Margie Whitfield, Jessie Mae Sims, Nora Lee Cornelius and Joyce Ann Williams, all of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Chapel M.B. Church in Bovina with Bishop Joseph Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Brookhaven Cemetery in Bovina. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
