Margaret C. Nelson died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 92.

Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker and a member of St. James A.M.E. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Sarah Sheppard Crockett; her husband, Robert Lee Nelson Jr.; a son, Robert Lee Nelson III; and two daughters, Irene Nelson and Margie Nelson.

Survivors include a son, Eugene Jackson Nelson of Vicksburg; two daughters, Mary K. Butler and Dorothy Haymond Nelson, both of Vicksburg; a stepdaughter, Ruby Lee Porter of Vicksburg; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
