A deadbeat dad wanted in Ohio for more than $74,000 in unpaid child support is believed to be living in Bovina, Ohio officials said.
Carl Climer, age unknown, lists an address on Bovina Drive as his current mailing address. He is wanted on an outstanding warrant in Butler County, Ohio, for felony non-support, said Mary Kern, criminal investigator in the prosecutor’s office in Hamilton.
Climer has been a fugitive from Butler County since April 2007, Kern said in an e-mail. “He and his wife move throughout the Southern states, changing addresses and phone numbers frequently to avoid apprehension. However, they have friends and family in the Vicksburg area they stay in regular contact with.” Climer’s current wife, Vera, has also used an address on Woodham Road, Kern said.
Bovina Drive is off U.S. 80, just west of Tiffentown Road. Woodham Road is south of the city, off Dudley Road
Climer is the father of two children, ages 19 and 17. Local, county and federal agencies in Ohio and Mississippi have assisted in trying to locate Climer.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said he could not discuss cases of other agencies.
In a prepared statement, Butler County prosecutor Robin Piper said Climer takes great effort to avoid police. “If Climer would work as hard to support his children as he does to avoid the police, he wouldn’t have such a gigantic arrearage owed for his children,” Piper said. “Please help bring this fugitive to justice.”
Anyone with information about Climer is urged to contact the Butler County prosecutor’s office at 513-785-6597 or e-mail Kern at kernmc@butlercountyohio.org.
