McDonald’s leaders get regional awards

Two Vicksburg McDonald’s managers have received honors.

Larry Chambliss and Andrea Gooden were named 2008 Outstanding Restaurant Managers out of 700 restaurants in the Great Southern Region.

Chambliss operates the Iowa Boulevard location and has been in management for 12 years, while Gooden operates the North Frontage Road location and has eight years of experience.

Both attended an awards banquet in Memphis in March. They will travel to the Divisional McDonald’s Convention in Orlando in July where they will be recognized again.

Casino career day scheduled in Tunica

The Casino College of Mississippi will host career day for casino dealers from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 21 in Tunica.

The event will feature free blackjack classes. It will be at the college’s Tunica campus, located at 3444 Casino Way No. 5.

Chamber luncheon to feature Hinds rep

The Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly luncheon at noon Wednesday at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

The speaker will be Shane Brown, a recruiter for Hinds Community College.
