Strong arm robbery reported on Bowmar

A strong arm robbery was reported at 1:07 p.m. Friday in the city.
The victim reported he was walking in the 1100 block of Bowmar Avenue when he was approached by two men who assaulted him and stole his brown leather wallet containing $475, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.
The suspects were last seen fleeing east on Bowmar Avenue, said Stewart.
No description of the suspects was given.
Jackson man jailed for probation violation
A Jackson man was in the Warren County Jail during the weekend for a probation violation.
George Jones, 51, 530 Harvey Watkins Drive, was being held for Mississippi Department of Corrections without bond, jail records said.
Pedestrian cut on Halls Ferry Road
An aggravated assault was reported at 12:26 Saturday morning on Halls Ferry Road.
Adrian Tatum, 22, 2508 Halls Ferry Road, reported he was walking in the area near his home when he was assaulted and cut on his back by a man who then fled in an unknown direction on Military Avenue, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 200 pounds, said Stewart.
The victim was taken to River Region Medical Center, where he was treated and released, said Diane Gawronski hospital spokesman.
Vicksburg man jailed for stolen property
A Vicksburg man was in the Issaquena County Jail during the weekend for having $550 worth of stolen jewelry.
Corey Patterson, 31, 801 First East St., was arrested on Friday after a traffic stop at Browns Alley, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.
The charge stemmed from a Feb. 21 residential burglary that remains under investigation, said Stewart.
Patterson was charged with receiving stolen property and was held on a $10,000 bond.
Stereo equipment hot in burglaries
Two auto burglaries and a residential burglary were reported in the city during the weekend.
* A set of sub-woofer speakers valued at $400 was reported missing at 3:39 p.m. Friday from a 1997 Toyota in the 1300 block of Mulberry Street.
* A Samsung phone valued at $200 was reported missing at 5:38 a.m. from a 2008 Jeep in the 1400 block of Parkside Drive.
* A set of 17-inch chrome rims valued at $1,200, a 42-inch Sanyo TV valued at $1,000, a set of 8-inch Kicker speakers valued at $100, a 600-watt amplifier valued at $150 and a leaf blower valued at $60 were reported missing at 7:04 p.m. Sunday from a home in the 2600 block of Oak Street.
TV, tools, radio among missing items
Two residential burglaries were reported in the county during the weekend.
* An Emerson 32-inch TV valued at $425 was reported missing at 7:37 a.m. Sunday from a home in the 60 block of Marguerite Drive.
* A 12-inch Pioneer speaker box valued at $400, a Husky tool set valued at $140 and a radio valued at $50 were reported missing at 8:40 p.m. Friday from a home in the 4800 block of Benard Drive.
Four injured in four wrecks
Four car wrecks in the city and county during the weekend sent three Vicksburg people and an Arkansas resident to River Region Medical Center, where they were all treated and released.
They were:
* A one-car wreck at 11:18 p.m. Saturday on Dusty Road sent Michael Kemp, 27, 1429 Weems St.
* A three-car wreck at 10:13 a.m. Sunday at U.S. 61 South and Jeff Davis Road sent Denettress Ellis, 31, 205 Central Drive.
* A one-car wreck at 9:27 p.m. Sunday at 5793 Halls Ferry Road sent Elizabeth Harris, 16, 200 Graceland Circle.
* A one-car wreck at 4:32 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 20 near Bovina sent Aiden Harris, 2, 6216 Dooley Ferry Road, Texarkana. Aiden’s mother, Kate Harris, 29, also was in the vehicle, but the hospital said it had no record of her being treated.
