Pot arrest lands man in jail on 2007 charge

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning for an armed robbery that occurred Dec. 20, 2007, at the Wal-Mart SuperCenter, 2150 Iowa Blvd.

Michael Partridge, 22, 2450 Mississippi 27, was initially arrested by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Friday afternoon on Clay Street for a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

His bonding company surrendered his bond for the armed robbery charge and he is now being held without bond for both charges, said Stewart.

Partridge is accused of stealing a bank bag from a Wal-Mart SuperCenter employee as the employee was emptying out the cash drawer at the self-checkout counter, said Stewart.

Some of the money stolen was recovered, said Stewart.

No additional information was available.

Tennesseean held for probation violation

A Tennessee man was in the Warren County Jail this morning for a probation violation.

Jeffery Smith, 43, 1525 Mc-Broom St., Jamestown, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. Monday and held without bond, jail records said.

Purse, MP3 player missing from car

An auto burglary was reported in the city Monday.

A Dooney and Bourke bag valued at $150 and an MP3 player valued at $70 were reported missing at 10:10 p.m. from a 1995 Honda Civic in the 2100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard.
