Charles L. Stewart Sr. died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at his home. He was 81.

Mr. Stewart was a Warren County native. He was retired from Batesville Casket Company and the Vicksburg Warren School District. He was of the Episcopal faith.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles L. Stewart Jr.; brother, W.G. Davis; sister, Freddie Winters; and his parents, Thomas E. Sr. and Althea Singleton Stewart.

Survivors include his wife, Louise M. Stewart of Vicksburg; a daughter, Veronica Stewart of Vicksburg; two brothers, Thomas E. Stewart Jr. of Los Angeles and W.H. Stewart of Vicksburg; and one sister, Althea Baldwin.
