Warren Central capped a tough week of playoff tune-ups with a pair of losses on Saturday, 4-2 and 7-0 in a doubleheader at Oak Grove.

Keaton Sanders had two hits, and Dylan Wooten had an RBI single for WC (9-17) in game one. In game two, Wooten doubled but the Vikings managed just five hits. Oak Grove scored three runs early and never looked back, handing WC its fourth loss of the week.

Warren Central will open the playoffs on Thursday at 6 p.m., at home against Starkville in the first game of a Class 5A regional. On Friday, the teams will head to Madison Central for the rest of the regional. The winner of Thursday’s game will face the host Jaguars. The loser of that contest will then play the loser of Thursday’s game in an elimination game.
