Big day in redwood

Bryan Walker of Key Constructors in Madison this morning yanks the last traffic barrel preventing cars and trucks from crossing onto the new Yazoo River bridge at Redwood. The $33.5 million span, which had been under construction since 2006, is 1,300 feet long and is replacing a narrower iron bridge that opened in the 1950s, right. Walker said the old bridge will be stripped of its asphalt and blown up. Cranes then will be used to remove the bridge parts from the river.
