6 jailed in drug bust on Glass Road

Six people were in the Warren County Jail this morning after a drug bust on Glass Road Wednesday.

Cedrick Lyons, 26, 375 Glass Road; Columbus O. Neal, 22, 601 Belva Drive; Johnny Lyons, 21, 489 Halls Road; Fredrick Johnson, 24, 242 Short Folk Road; Eric Ferguson, 20, 25 Warrenton Place; and Kevin Cross, 1190 Burnt House Road, were arrested at 2:30 p.m. and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of cocaine, said Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace.

Additionally, Cedrick Lyons and Neal were wanted on drug-sale warrants stemming from January indictments by the Warren County grand jury.

Wednesday’s arrests came as Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Warren County Sheriff’s Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol officers served a search warrant at Cedrick Lyons’ home in an investigation by MBN of drug activity, said Pace.

In the bust, authorities recovered 76 grams of marijuana and one gram of crack cocaine, Pace said.

All six were being held without bond.

City woman nabbed for third shoplifting

A Vicksburg woman was in the Warren County Jail this morning charged with third-offense shoplifting.

Angela Beard, 35, 425 Evans St., was arrested at 1 p.m. Wednesday, said Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department.

She is accused of stealing items totaling $68 at Wal-Mart SuperCenter, 2150 Iowa Blvd.

She was released on $1,500 bond.
