Diamond rings, AC among missing items

Four residential burglaries were reported in the city during the weekend.

* Two diamond rings valued at $4,500 and a cell phone valued at $250 were reported missing at 6:10 a.m. Friday from a home in the 1200 block of National Street.

* A 40-caliber High Point handgun valued at $400 was reported missing at 1:17 p.m. Friday from a home in the 2200 block of Rogers Street.

* A comforter set valued at $230, three pairs of sneakers valued at $360 and two cases of hand tools valued at $150 were reported missing at 10:44 a.m. Saturday from a home in the 100 block of Lightcap Boulevard.

* A window air condition unit and a set of Samurai swords, no value listed, were reported missing at 12:20 p.m. Saturday from a home in the 2500 block of Oak Street.

In addition, two auto thefts were reported in the city during the weekend.

* A 1983 blue Chevrolet pickup with a Mississippi tag WB1 810 was reported missing at 12:54 p.m. Saturday from the 1100 block of Avenue D.

* A 1986 maroon and black Nissan truck, no tag information available, was reported missing at 11:58 p.m. Saturday from the 1300 block of Washington Street.

TVs reported missing in three city burglaries

Three business burglaries were reported in the city during the weekend.

* The security guard at the Scottish Inn hotel, 3955 E. Clay St., reported at 9:20 p.m. Friday that a 25-inch Zenith TV valued at $250 was missing from a room. The report did not indicate the room was rented out to anyone.

* New Mount Elem Church, 3014 Wisconsin Ave., reported a burglary at 3:41 a.m. Sunday after an alarm was triggered, in which a 50-inch Samsung flat screen TV valued at $1,100  was missing from the wall. The TV was later recovered in the church parking lot.

* A TV valued at $1,600, a set of tires with chrome rims valued at $2,200, a set of Chevrolet stock tires and a keyless entry system for a Jeep were reported missing at 2:41 p.m. Sunday from a renter of a storage unit at Indiana Avenue Self Storage, 3040 Indiana Ave.
