Lee Helton of Joplin, Mo., stops to visit in downtown Vicksburg, telling how he carries on his bicycle everything he needs to live. The Vietnam veteran said he has traveled more than 5,000 miles in four years teaching people how to live “simply.” The former tile and carpet layer said he could no longer work on his knees and uses a walking cane but said an accident about five years ago that put him in a wheelchair for a year was the best thing that ever happened to him because it taught him that he could live a less complicated life. When he stopped in Vicksburg, he was on his way to Texas. (Suzanne Feliciano*The Vicksburg Post)
