CHICAGO — Patrick Lamar Baldwin died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at West Suburban Medical Center in Chicago. He was 42.

A Chicago resident, Mr. Baldwin was employed as a railroad spotter. He was a member of Cool Springs M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Sr. and Barbara Rogers Baldwin; and one brother, Johnny L. Baldwin Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Samara P. Baldwin of Chicago; six sons, Carlos Scott of Greenwood, Pierre Baldwin of Chicago, Patrick Baldwin Jr. of Texas and Darrell Smith, Jarvis Smith and Jamal Baldwin, all of Vicksburg; two daughters, Lillian Bryant of Vicksburg and Dreamia Sheppard of Chicago; two brothers, Toney Baldwin of Clinton and Michael Baldwin of Chicago; a sister, Mary Theresa Cotton of Greenwood; his paternal grandparents, Elijah and Ethel Baldwin of Vicksburg; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Cool Springs M.B. Church with the Rev. Alonzo Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.
